Scooter Drag Racing - 28 April 2013
« on: April 03, 2013, 10:16:16 AM »
Hi Guys,

As most of you know, Scooter Drag Racing is on the cards for eventual National status. For now though, the class needs to be tested and needs to be at a level that can be taken to Tarlton, and an impretion needs to be made, a good one.

Scooter drag racing is run on an 1/8th mile strip (200m). Times and exit speeds are unknown at this point, so there is no benchmark.

What I propose is a 'get together' at The Rock Raceway at the end of this month, the 28th, its a Sunday, late afternoon, early evening. The Rock's strip is 200m, with starting lights and 'win lights'. Timing is not available on the 'street to strip' events. But I am sure that timekeepers could be arranged for us for the evening (manual method), just for reference.

It doesn't matter what level of performance your scoot has. I will be running my PGO drag scoot with my 150 GY6 road motor for the evening. 2T or 4T, 110 or 650, it doesn't matter, this is not a win or lose thing, it's a 'lets have some fun' evening, test, chat and have some fun. Whether your scoot is stock standard, or modded to hills, this will be a fun evening.

Entrance fee is R30per person, R50 if you race. The more guys that can be there, the better.

So who's in? Any other questions welcome.

GY6 150 - G-Flow Exhaust - 30mm Carb - High lift cam - High compression - Gas flowed - Choped and cut weird looking scoot... It's more fun riding a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow.

So we went Dragging!

as usual, it was only us... The rest of SAscooters dropped us mal.

ill get to the name and shame later... as im a boks and don't care if I tune people.

anyway!

!

last night myself, Brad8900, My brother in law and Carel19 went to The Rock for the ICE and DICE.. was good fun as always!

My race tales, and on behalf of Carel49

the Blur VS Tata Indica ... from the line... Slaughter him all the way..

Carel49 the race wh@re....

1.4 Golf( free flow, possible branches, and induction).. klapped him... don't know how far.. BUT far.

Ford Fiesta 1.6(free flow, smoked like a b***ch)  dropped him as well...

ford bantam 63.4 wkw( I saw the dyno sheet) Full SWR, Cam Branches, viper zorst Panel filter, Unichip

carel49 dropped him by more than 7 kar lengths before the halfway mark... but he started catching to the end...

Scooters 4 - cars 0

EPIC WIN!! LOL

The Blur VS Carel49..

he gets the jump on me.... and halfway down the Blur starts catching but the strip is only 200 Meters, not enough road.. LOL. he beats me by 2 meters. couple of runs... same result. I weigh 106 kgs, and he weighs 72kgs. But a win is a win. Congrats Carel49.

The Blur VS Brad8900

I don't know how far exactly... but I won.

Brad8900 VS PatB and his crew..

Brad won every race... as he had no competition.

Thanks for the post Skaap.

We had dik jol daar by The Rok, but could have had a better turnout if we had stopped blokes in the street.

This thread is useless with or without pics, sorry to say.

I'm still disappointed not to have anything to go up against. Sick of being bliks*mmed by these mal fast 2-strokes!

Well done to the guys who raped those cars, and big up for the day. I had fun regardless.
